It is always exiting to receive models from a new company. After been looking at Old Crows homepage countless times, a friend and I ordered a number of vehicles. It took some time to get the package, but the waiting time was worth it.
All parts were carefully packed in separate bubble bags, with wheels and metal parts packed separate. Resin is very fragile – but of the three packages we have received since then, only a few parts have been damaged. |
The models from Old Crow are ’true 25 mm’, which means that they are a bit too small for Games Workshop or Urban War. The models are generic science fiction and fits in with settings that is near future; that could be post-apocalyptic, cyberpunk or ‘Aliens’ style sci-fi. They work well with miniatures from e.g. Cobblestone Casting or The Foundry. |
|

Larger parts are casted in resin, while small fittings are made of metal. All details are sharp, and I found only a few bubbles or flaws in the casting. The chassis are in one or two parts. The undersides of the resin were finely polished and the models need very little preparation before assembling.

Together with the vehicles we received a bag of stowage.

And another bag with fittings like hooks, smoke launchers, exhaust pipe etc. to individualize the vehicles a bit. I only miss some digging tools. |

With is a semi-military truck without windshield, but only small ports to look out - I would prefer the former, though. You get two containers to place on the truck body. Regardless of the military look I plan to paint it as a civilian vehicle; properly in white and blue. Price £ 6.5. |

Light Ulility Vehicle |

A more civilian looking light truck with a platform. Could be turned into a light fighting vehicle with a gunner and a MG on the platform, or be used as it is. I would like to have more civilian vehicle to chose from. Price £ 6.5. |

This vehicle you can get in three variants; one short with or without a platform and six-wheeled version. While I would prefer a 4-seater, it is a nice design. Price £ 3. |

This light APC will be used as a command vehicle, for the officers from my 'French Legionnaires in Space' force. It has the same overall design as the bigger APC, and will work fine with this. You get three different weapons with the turret; I wonder what the weapon to the right might be. The turret is not designed to be turned, but it should be a small matter to make it so with a long pin at the center. Price £ 6,5. |
| Claymore
APC |
|

A medium APC to be used by my French force. My first impressions were that it was a bit too long and 'thin' – but it is still the Old Crow APC I like best. As one of the few models this one comes only with wheels. Most of the vehicles come several variants; as tracked/wheeled, hover and grav.

The Claymore assembled without glue. The models are easy to assemble with superglue, be sure you get it right the first time, as they properly never will come apart again.
The Claymore glued together. The height and proportions looks better now. We got a bag with stowage with the vehicles, and as the Claymore will be a centrepiece in my force, I have used the most of it on this vehicle.
I like the areas with small armour-plates on the front. The turret has since been updated with a fancier one. I have bought the new one, and will change the barrels of this one into the light cannons. They could both use some sights though. Price £ 18. |

Combat Lander |
|

One of my friends has bought walls, floor pieces and fittings to build a hangar bay. He needed a few parts, so I took the chance to order the Combat Lander. It is a silly buy though, since you cannot use it much on a skirmish battlefield – other then perhaps to drop a few models behind the enemy’s line.
It comes in many parts. I am fairly impressed with the craftsmanship of the model, as some of the wing pieces sits in angles. I had no problems with the assembly.

The model is fairly big, with a decent wingspan. The container is a bit small though, and does not seem to have room for more then 5-6 models
Beside as a Combat Lander, I think I will use lander in scenarios; the rebels could have as mission to steal it, or perhaps they need to take out a VIP while he is been escorted from a secure building to the lander.
I plan to paint it in the colours of a French Mirage fighter. The price for the lander is £ 20. |
