The
Junkers are the filth of the universe; pirates and scavengers
of the worst sort. They know it, and seem to take pride
in it. The junker army really don't have any marines in
normal sense, depending instead on convict legionnaires
- and there is a lot of things that can get one convicted
on the Junker homeworld of Ironglass. The army can be
fielded either as a 'Roman' like army with banners and
lots and lots of cannonfodder, or as a mad Max force with
plenty of bikes and quads - or a mix of the two. Since
I already have more points then I will ever field, I have
gone for the Roman style army.
Notice
that these is the old miniatures, made by Kevin White
for I-Kore. There is a whole new line of miniatures,
that is quite good - but I stick with my old buddies.
How
they were painted
I
have painted my force Junker red on black primer; first
the Games Workshop colour Blood Red, and then a layer
of Junker Red from Urban Mamooth. The red did not cover
very even, so they have a rugged look. I have used Imperial
Roman transfers on their shield. I first painted the
shield dark brown, placed the transfers, and painted
the red around them. The transfers were from Foundry.
The backpacks are painted Shadow Grey, but should properly
have been a normal grey. I will change that eventually.
The
Units

Junker
Convict Legionaires.

Misc.
characters. From the left a Lictor, a Pretor, a
Lictor Character, and the Aurelius special Character.

Suicide
Bombers. Those Legionaires
that cannot behave as good cannonfodder, gets strapped
with explosives and filled with combatdrugs, so they
can make a last service for their legion.

Sandrunners.
They
will need a shield to be consistent with the new Junker
Army Book.

Praetorians.
I changed the oval shield with the normal one, placed
a Foundry legionaire transfer, and added central handguard.

Vulcan
Battle Suits -with
the spikes that everybody loved to hate. I have painted
black and yellow stribes on the gloves to give them
a 'industrial look'.

Marauder
Dune Buggies. I really like these buggies. Maybe
they should have some brown camouflage stripes, like
those on the Salamander, but I really don't think that's
necessary - it might mess up the relative clean look
of the vehicles.

Salemander
Field Cannon - The base is made especially for my
Void desert terrain, so the cannons works as central
pieces. The miniatures have not been clued to the base,
so they are easily removed.
